Welcome to A Great Escape Spalon. We are a Paul Mitchell focused Salon and Day Spa. Located at 203 East Third Street, here in wonderful Farm Vegas, Va. As you take the time to browse through our website, you will see that we are a new concept in this area, devoted as professionals in this industry, to bringing you the best a Spalon has to offer. We offer everything from hairstyling to hot milk pedicures. A Great Escape has gift certificates and we enjoy any opportunity to be of assistance.


           If a product does not satisfy your needs we will gladly exchange it for another. Product returns will be accepted up to 30 days from purchase. If you need adjustments on your cut or color, we allow a week to do so. All chemical services will be performed only after a thorough analysis of the hair. Many of our services can be performed onsite at your office, your home, or even by your pool! Ask us for details.





Julie Cales
Master Stylist

       Julie is the proud owner of AGES. She has been in the salon industry since 1977 and firmly believes in continuous education for all members of AGES’s team. Her specialty is everything! She was asked, "What is one thing you want your clients to know?" Julie stated, “I will always listen and do what I think is best. I will even recommend one of our other services or other technicians.” Outside of work, she enjoys resting, watching her chickens, sewing, crafting, crocheting, cooking, and gardening.

Michelle Collins
Master Stylist

       Michelle has been in the salon industry since 1983 and is very focused and innovative. She specializes in hair cutting and color that enhances a person’s face shape and skin tone. Michelle enjoys teaching and sharing all her experiences through the years with her fellow co-workers to help them grow as hair designers. Michelle would like her clients to know, “I listen to their desires and look for a way to satisfy them. The consultation is the most important.” In her spare time, she likes farming, gardening, and garage sales.

Mack Cales
Master Cutter, Licensed Stylist

       Mack has been in the industry since 2004 and is definitely known for his hair cutting skills. He enjoys creating new styles for his clients, whether that’s a new color or a new cut. He can also pierce ears! Mack stated, “I care and take pride in everything I do. Life is art and I love what I do.” In his spare time, he enjoys reading, anything artistic, and meditating.

Joni Smith
Licensed Stylist

       : Joni said, “My goal is to make you happy,” and she will definitely do that. She has been here at AGES since 2009. She loves doing short razor cuts, dramatic color, and pedicures. In her spare time, she likes playing and listening to music, songwriting, and taking care of her animal friends. “I’m proud to have found such a wonderful place to work. I am also proud to be improving my skills every day.” –Joni.

Latrice Tucker
Master Pedicurist, Licensed Stylist

       Latrice has been in the salon industry since 2011. She specializes in weft extensions, braids, quick weaves, and twists. However, she loves doing everything, especially pedicures and hair color, and has recently added waxing to her skill set. Latrice is most proud of the diversity here at AGES and her personal growth as an individual. “I want my clients to know that I am very outspoken, proud to work here at the salon, and I am always excited to learn new things about the hair industry,” –Latrice. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading all genres of books.

Shawna Bryant
Licensed Stylist

       Shawna has been in the salon industry since 2004, when she first started working with Julie. Shawna specializes in men’s cuts and pedicures. She is very fun and energetic and tries to please all of her clients. Shawna stated, “I take time to listen to their concerns and try to address them.” In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter. She is most proud of earning her cosmetology license and graduating from college.

Christy Maund
Master Nail Technician

       Christy has been working as a nail technician since 2013. She is very creative and strives to give you the best experience she possibly can. She is a bit of a perfectionist, so expect great nail art! She stays up to date with the latest nail techniques and trends. Also, Christy is a proud mother of her beautiful daughter.

Tasha Davis
Massage Therapist, Assistant

       Tasha started at Miller-Motte Tech in 2008 and graduated in 2010 with an associate’s degree in occupational science. Tasha loves practicing massage therapy! She stated, “I do whatever I can to make sure my client walks out better than they came in!” Tasha also helps make the salon look as good as its name, ‘A Great Escape.’ In her spare time, she is busy with her two children. She is also continuing her education in massage at Southside VA Community College.

Renee Boise
Nail Technician Apprentice

       Renee earned her Career Studies Certificate in 2013. She pursued other career options for a few years until she came to AGES to complete her nail technician studies. Specializing in Gel Manicures, Renee states “When I applied as an assistant, I didn’t think I would be offered an opportunity of a lifetime. I look forward to making meaningful friendships with clients while working in a family-oriented environment.” Renee enjoys learning about home décor, compulsively searching through Pinterest, and pampering her cat, Tabby.

Joe Flannagan
Manager, Receptionist

       Joe started working for AGES in July 2016 and his technical experience is a much appreciated addition to the front end staff. He brings over ten years of customer service and retail experience and his do it yourself knowledge enables him to be the salon’s resident jack of all trades. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music and gaming.

Bridget Flannagan
Manager, Receptionist

       Bridget began working for AGES in July of 2016 and brings several years of customer service and management to the business. She is very organized and maintains the client records and heads up salon advertising. Her goal is to make you feel at home from the moment you step into the salon. Her hobbies include reading, going to the beach, and traveling whenever possible.

Lisa Carlin
Manager, Receptionist

       Lisa is excited to be joining the AGES family and brings over a decade of retail and hospitality management with her. She started in September 2016 and is looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you and promised to do her very best to accommodate your every need. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Hannah Smith
Receptionist

       Hannah started working for AGES in 2013 as an assistant and now is a receptionist. She is very organized and does a great job with her job as a receptionist. She is also very friendly, hard-working, and has great multitasking skills. Hannah stated, “I enjoy helping others with whatever they need. Also, I love learning new things!” In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Casey Henry
Assistant

       Casey has been employed with AGES since 2008. She is currently attending Longwood University. She is super fun, very energetic, and consistent, which makes her a great assistant to all our stylists here at AGES. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, swimming, and ice skating. She wants our clients to know that she is a very approachable person and will do her best to make them feel comfortable and right at home! Not only does she assist stylists and clients, you may also find her at the front desk.

Ashley Dove
Assistant

       Ashley D. is a fantastic assistant here at AGES. She is always dressed to impress, friendly, and determined to tackle any job asked of her. Ashley would like our clients to know, “I’m always open to talk if you’re having a bad day or you just need a helping hand.” In her spare time, she likes walking outside enjoying nature’s beauty.

Courtney Benson
Assistant

       Courtney is so excited to join the AGES family! She enjoys spending time with friends and family. She loves talking to clients and getting to know them, so she can better assist them while they are enjoying their time in the Salon. In her spare time she is either spending time with her children or working on one of the many home projects she has.
